The Maximum Barking Threshold

L brings MD back early from his morning walk, well, immediately actually. He’s broken the maximum barking threshold in record time this morning. I send her out again with just Doggo, leaving MD with me.

I let him whinge and do the histrionics for ten minutes or so. Then I started throwing his ball and he’s suddenly fine. Practically the same strategy works with the women in my life.

Although when I put breakfast out but wouldn’t let him have it until Doggo got back, he started sulking again.

Tonight, the occasion of the bi-annual haircut is followed by an evening at dog training.

The Weekend Looms Large

Today, probably against my better judgement with the Sundowner looming large this weekend, I go for a gentle lunchtime trot. L queries my definition of gentle. Actually my legs query it too, telling me now that it wasn’t as gentle as I thought and I can’t be more precise because I didn’t time it as my watch is flat again.

So to the pool and another very competitive fast lane, I manage 64 lengths in record time before heading home to chuck some balls and to try to burn some calories off our porky dog.
