Natural Remedies

It’s very warm on the bike today and I get a right sweat on. Meanwhile L bunks off work and meets her folks in Derby for mid-morning coffee.

She says her health is improving, 50% better already and it'll be 75% better by tomorrow then 100% once we get out in that pure Scottish air. Ah yes, and the purifying effect of the Scottish rain of course. Then there will be plenty of natural remedies available from the local distilleries too.

It should be a nice chilled week although it doesn’t look like the weather will be chilled, so there doesn’t look much chance of doing any skiing.

At the same time as we move temporarily out, Daughter will be moving in. She starts her new job in Nottingham on Monday. I hope everything goes well as we’re not really in range to assist with anything and we’ll have dubious phone reception but as L says she's 23 and her new job is in Arnold not Saudi Arabia where L was working at her age.

First another decadent night in, assisted again by Curry Busters.

Telly Addicts

Today is our anniversary and we are celebrating, well after L has been to the gym to throw herself at a punch bag first. That’s my girl. Sweat like a fox and all that.

To celebrate I cook something spicy for L, light some candles and even put the fire on for her. MD brings her something round and muddy.

We do somewhat spoil the romanticism of it all with a spot of Thomas Cromwell (aka Wolf Hall).
I’m happy with a night of Henry VIII trying to get his leg over Jane Seymour but feel we are missing out on the JK Rowling thing while L is so looking forward to Poldark. We are becoming such telly addicts.

I’m Free This Evening

There’s not much snow in Nottingham, sadly, and nothing at all in Derby. Yet still the bus is late and then the traffic is horrific. Takes in all, door to door, 110 minutes to get to work. Great.

At least one step in the right direction is that Derby bus station does now have live times on the Trent Bus signs. Oooh technology. Same they’re showing everything as running late.

‘This Girl Can’, so they say. It’s a new promotion.

Will it get more people into the gym? Certainly anywhere with a lass pouring with sweat at she pounds away at the equipment would get the male vote, whether it works for other women I’m not sure.

Although it’s a case of preaching to the already converted, the advert has worked it’s magic on L who has booked her first spin class in absolutely ages. I’ve also booked us both in the Alsager 5 race next weekend.

Along with the ‘this girl can’ video there’s several for a couples workout.

I tell L I’m free this evening.
