That Weekend Really Didn’t Seem Very Long Did It

On the bike and today the temperature dips below zero. It’s not quite chipping your fingers off the handlebars cold but I did wish I’d put my thermal booties on to keep my toes warm.

Despite the chill, it was a glorious morning. I hope it stays this way for the rest of the winter, much better than that rubbish they call summer.

As its Monday it must be squash, that weekend really didn’t seem very long did it, or perhaps they’ve actually booked us in on the right day this time.

Despite a bad knee (again), I give it a go. Amazingly I almost win and have five match points to win 3-2, all of which he saves and finally beats me. For once, I'm actually disappointed.

As Good As A Victory

Dry again and on the bike again. In fact it's gone warm again, summer has returned.

The ride home is slightly frustrating as three of us get stuck behind a learner driver travelling through Stapleford and Sandiacre. We’re all too terrified to go past but probably not as terrified as the driver is with three bloody cyclists behind them.

I offer my squash opponent the chance of restarting squash tonight after last week’s break for the beer festival or repeating the run around Rushcliffe Park that he did instead. I’m sure it was a difficult decision but he plumped for squash.

It finishes 3-2 to him, so another 'as good as a' victory for me.

Indecent Or Not

On the bike today, I survive the roads and my still fraying shorts. L vows to stitch them before I get arrested for indecency.

It’s a nice sunny day for cycling, indecent or not. I think today might be summer.

L swims 50 lengths. Blimey. I feel faint at the thought, hope I never have to swim that far. Apart from in the Great North Swim of course. I must train for that sometime.

I get a confusing text from Daughter saying ‘after these assignments I shall start to sort my life out’. Confusing because it could have come from L. That’s the sort of text she sends me three times a week. Like mother, like Daughter.
