The Particular Hoop

I’m on the bike today while L runs with Daughter, who still has her ‘man’ staying with her, in the evening.

It turns out that while we were at Tears For Fears on Tuesday the dogs got an hours walk, a ball chucking session at the University and then fish and chips to round off the evening, which may or may not have included mushy peas. None of which they have admitted to. Suddenly we don’t feel so guilty about leaving them.

Then I’m at dog training and on the way I pop in at my parents’ to try to get my Chromecast gadget working so that we can all watch Derby’s FA Cup 5th Round Match with Brighton. It’s on BT Sport and this appears to be the particular hoop you need to jump through to receive it. Unfortunately my Dad’s internet doesn’t seem to be strong enough to do it, so it’s a no go.

A Sobering Experience

Today is Derby’s big FA Cup 3rd Round tie against Chelsea. A total sell out of course, mainly because the locals have been enjoy the current Derby revival. I fully expect a Derby victory.

Sadly Chelsea bring their entire first team and play rather well, although their shooting is somewhat wayward during the first half. In the end though they win though 2-0 without Derby giving them too much trouble.

I go to gym afterwards much to L’s shock. L is at home watching the Sound of Music, for the first time apparently. Her choice of how to spend her afternoon does not influence my decision to go to the gym at all. Honest.

I partake in a 15k bike, a leg weights session and a 1k row. The row takes place next to a champion rower - female, it is a sobering experience. If I was rowing on water I would have sank, in shame. I finish my 1k and head off to get changed. When I leave the centre 15 minutes or so later, she’s till rowing. Crikey. Overall though, not a bad session, in fact I nearly enjoyed it.
