Non Binary

The dogs had to cope with the trauma of going back to the old system this morning. Doggo seemed to cope ok but MD looked a bit shocked. He’s got so used to having L and the ball chucker to himself.

The local council seem to be bombarding me with survey recently, mostly mundane stuff but I was kind of intrigued by question 8.

8. What is your gender?
- Male
- Female
- Non Binary
- Other (please specify)

Hmmm. I’d heard that being ‘non-binary’ was all the rage at the moment but that’s the first time I’d seen it on a survey. However the intriguing thing is, if non-binary is effectively ‘neither’ or’ both’ then what comes under ‘other’?

Daughter comes over to Nottingham again, ahead of her interview in London tomorrow. L collects her from the train station as I’m out on the razz.

I’m out with the old school chums and as usual we meet up in the Brunswick. Tonight however the debate about where to go next for food is redundant as the Brunswick are now doing food until 8pm. Sorted. We stay there all evening. The thing is I’d already been in there for a pub lunch earlier, if I’m not careful they’ll think I’m moving in.

Testosterone

Due to the car repairs yesterday, today becomes shopping day. The shopping list arrives and avocados are now up to a quantity of three, they keep you young apparently. I hope she's not pregnant.

With Imogen still seemingly well pissed off, I head off to the gym for a session on the Watt Bikes. There’s almost as much testosterone bouncing off the walls in the gym as there is on the track and three of the six people on the Watt Bikes are female.

I do my session and then crawl home.

Disaster On Friday The 13th

It’s Friday 13th but I bike anyway. Naturally disaster strikes and a much older chap overtakes me as if I wasn’t there. Then again, that happens most Fridays and Tuesdays, Thursdays etc etc

L and I have swapped audiobooks. She is listening to my Red Sparrow book about a Russian honey trap spy.

I’m reading her Gone Girl book about a girl who’s, well, gone. It’s fair to say that both books are annoying us. L bemoans her male author who deems a description of the lead female character jerking off with a hairbrush necessary. Funny that, I bemoan my female author who deems a description of the lead male character jerking off in the shower, notwithstanding without the use of a hairbrush, necessary.

Nice Morning For It

In a complete contrast to yesterday, it is a nice morning for it. Cycling that is.

Today is my boss's last day before his retirement and I spend the whole day trying to extract as much as possible from his brain before 5pm.

L asks me what books I would like for my birthday. Clearly this is a ruse to get herself around the current book embargo and legitimately into Waterstones. Although, of course, I would only expect her to visit to the sports book section.

She says that shutting her eyes for the first two floors would be disrespectful and akin to me swimming in the pool with a bikini clad female in the lane either side but not taking a peek. The difference being that I’d take a peak but I wouldn’t bring one home with me.
