Feeling More Human

It’s been a while but the boys and I are at a dog show today. Our performance is a bit of a mixed bag. First we have an elimination, then on the next course we were clear right up until we had the last jump down, then we do get a clear round where we came 3rd and finally we clock up ten faults for two poles down on run four. That was just the morning. Our only run in the afternoon was simply a disaster. So just the one rosette today.

Meanwhile L sneakily skips Pilates and goes for a gym session. After which she says she’s now feels far more human but she doesn’t say if that’s an injured or an uninjured human. Then, with Daughter, she heads off for a free curry provided by Robin Hood Energy and John Carroll Leisure Centre. I enjoy my flask of lukewarm soup.

We stay in tonight, for sort of obvious reasons.

Rarity

With Monday dog training currently suspended for the winter and nothing else on tonight I go for a swim. Now there’s a rarity.

I put in 40 lengths at John Carroll. Then meet L afterwards who cadges a lift home after being in the gym.

Latest Wheeze

Doggo latest wheeze is to fill up on deer poo on his morning walk to the extent that he doesn’t want his breakfast. I could put this down to his 'age' but to be honest nothing has ever surprised me with that dog.

The weather is foul today so it’s no surprise that dog training is off. Instead I shall for a... wait for it... swim. That is once I’ve carefully checked that the kit I picked up this morning is actually for swimming in. Picking up the wrong kit is a mistake I’ve often made.

L is also at John Carroll in the gym doing a full blown keep-me-out-of-the-fridge session so I offer her a lift back. The only problem is that the traffic is so bad I don't even get there until fifteen minutes before I’m supposes to meet her. So it's a very quick thirty lengths (which should have been forty) before meeting L about fifteen minutes late.

It’s all a rush and there were some very interesting outfits in the pool, that were not immediately obvious what was holding them in place but I simply never got chance to look into the technicalities of it all.

Pull The Plug

We go to Forest Rec parkrun. L to run, me for the breakfast. Then she goes to Pilates at John Carroll. Then she goes to Aqua Aerobics at Djanogly. Busy girl.

I go home to try and give the lawn one final cut before the council pull the plug on the garden waste collections. It rains naturally, so chance missed. I can rearrange the lawn cut but they won't rearrange the collection.

And so to bed.

Then I have to raid the local Co-Op for something to make a decent pasta meal with as the builder has prevented me getting to the shops this week. We stay in as it’s the Leicester Half tomorrow.

Another Wet And Windy One

It’s a really foul wet and windy day today. Dogging is surprisingly off.

L is about to cancel her running plans but I assure her that the BBC have said it will stop around 5pm. They have occasionally been right. In fact I’m sure the wind and rain is already abating slightly. She should be raring to go after her quiet weekend.

I take advantage of the lack of dogging by doing 50 lengths of John Carroll pool.
