Redundant

L: 'OMG that was such a good swim!'
Me: 'That’s because you didn’t have four other people in your lane!'

Me: 'OMG it was such a good bike!'
L: 'I'm surprised you remembered how!'

We love a bit of banter.

Later it’s dog training.

MD (rough translation): 'OMG that was such a FUN training session!'
Me: 'I'm surprised you remembered how!'

L meanwhile is off to see the author Alison Weir at Quad which means it’s an evening of tea, cake and books.

What more can a girl want?’ she says. Ah, I'm redundant.

Couples Run

L has timetabled a long jog/plod/run today as training for the Four Villages Half Marathon which is only two weeks away. Sounds good, I wonder if I’m allowed to join her. Not that I’m trying to make sure she doesn’t back out of it or something.

She walks the boys and then I run with her. She assures me it will be incredibly gentle. Perfect. My sort of run.

We run out towards Trowell and then back through Bramcote. It goes pretty well I think although neither of us measures it, so we have no idea how far we ran. I’d guess it was around eight miles and it was great to run together, it’s been ages since we did that.

Back home, despite being deserted for a while, MD still seems knackered and although he does try to get some ball chucking going we don’t take the bait. Therefore it’s out third consecutive ball free day.

Halo

L gets up early and goes for a run with MD, then fits in a swim and all before 9am. She arrives at work with a shiny halo.

So I’m feeling seriously outdone as I get on the bus because even MD’s been for a run. Doggo and I had to console each other.

Tonight at least it's back to normal as regards Friday nights with me not being out on the tiles this evening. Finally we can start Top Of The Pops 1980.

An Incentive In Front Of Me

Everything so far today has been awesome including the bike ride to work. Although I think my back wheel might be about to collapse, it’s making a very funny noise. It might just need oil though. These things often help.

For a 25 year old, I wasn’t particularly quick. 61 minutes. When I was a 19 year old I used to do it in 55 unless there was an incentive in front of me, say something with a pony tail, when I’d do it in under 50. I usually try and get those sort of things behind me as quickly as possible.

L heads to the Chilwell Sweatshop run on the bus from work and I pick her up afterwards with the boys. MD has a word or two to say to a couple of dogs who are doing the run. Jealous I imagine.
