Anniversary Treat

It's our 21st today and we don’t look a day over 20. As a special treat, I get to walk the dogs while L goes for an early morning swim.

She keeps saying she wants to speed up her swim and is looking at those gadgets which set a pace for you by ‘beeping’ in your ear. I think she had one before but we can’t remember whether it got lost because it was so small or whether she sent it back judging it to be a waste of money.

In the end, she opts to buy a new sports bra instead which is a much better use of funds as we both benefit from such sexy attire and anyway, I can always swim alongside her and beep in her ear.

L’s boss keeps telling her how lovely Llandudno is, which is of course where I have my ‘free’ triathlon. He says it's a traditional old seaside town, which is a shame, as I was hoping to discover it was actually inland and therefore I wouldn’t have to face a sea swim.

The Pressure Is On

The dogs and I are at Rugby Agility Show on Catton Park, which is nowhere near Rugby.

In the morning MD has one clear, one weave failure (my fault) and one refusal (his fault). Leaving us just the Crufts Team Qualifier to do in the afternoon. I have promoted him to Team 1 so the pressure is on but we deliver with a clear round. Sadly, the team as a whole had faults so won’t be at Crufts any time soon but everyone had fun I think.

L breaks the hour in her race, the Womens 10k on Nottingham's Embankment. In fact she makes it on to the dizzy heights of page 4 of 10 on the results sheet. Awesome. She’s in the big time.

The winners time is a generous 45.04, which makes me think I could have beaten the lot of them had I had to hand a wig and a sports bra.

In the evening we visit the Barrel Drop and the Peacock before having another curry. A take away one this time.

Olympic Selection

I look very dapper this morning in my new Stella McCartney outfit.

Yes, all that hard work has finally paid off and I’ve been given my Olympic colours. Unfortunately not by the Team GB selection panel but by L, for my birthday. She’s a star.

It’s a pleasant ride in as well. For once, it’s not raining.

Talking of kits. PE kits weren't like this in my day.

Sadly. It’s not hard to see why according to the BBC, more boys than girls are taking part in PE if they dress the girls like that. I can imagine the lads are queuing round the block.

L's in charge of tonight's menu. Apparently it’ll be wine, trickled over a huge slab of cake, which will have chunks of Dairy Milk stuffed into it. Cool. I wonder if that’s with or without ice cream.

It sounds like she’s had a good day.
