Signed Off?

She may have managed the Derby 10k but L confesses that her back is actually rather bad. Oh dear. She cancels at of this week's exercise classes and books a doctor's appointment. Oh dear. Worrying but sensible. I tell her that if she’s lucky she might get signed off for a fortnight. She’s not happy at that thought.

The dog club has a committee meeting tonight from which some key people are missing. This means that some decisions which were taken last year are overturned but may well get overturned again once they are back. The joys of committees.

My first birthday card arrives, a week early. from L’s well organised sister who is abroad all week. What it actually means is she doesn’t trust anyone else to post it on her behalf.

Hardcore

L says not to expect her home until late, she has a hardcore session planned tonight. Classes and gym I think. I hope.

I have MD booked in for one of those as well. Hardcore I mean. Dog training is back on, we’re back in the old field. So bang goes the swimming.

Doggo will be doing softcore e.g. a good old bark, a few sniffs, several wees and a dump. Which to him will feel like a hardcore session.

MD is oddly brilliant again and even get praised by the trainer for being ‘up for it’. I’m not sure what’s going on.

On the way home, I rescue L from a violent thunderstorm that they don't actually seem to be having in central Nottingham but that had chased us away from dog training fifteen minutes early.

Walk? Breakfast?

Daughter goes back to Sheffield for the day to work and will then come back later to dog sit. L gets up early and takes her to the station.

The dogs look a bit gutted when I leave as well before they’ve even been out. Doggo was saying ‘Walk?’ MD was saying ‘Breakfast?’ I assure them that their mum will be back soon and will be spending the whole day off with them. So not only will they be off for a walk, a yap and a sniff, after breakfast they'll be able to play football for the rest of the day.

I take the bus rather than bike because it's starting to rain and the forecast is horrible but I still get soaked walking from bus station. It's so wet I don't bother going out to get any lunch and raid my desk drawers for something to eat instead.

When I get home the gas is off because of the workmen still digging in the street and in our front garden. Eventually I manage to find a workman to drag inside and switch it back on again.

L crawls home later from a double session of exercise classes. Her first attempt at the new misspelt Vipr, where you appear to have hurl something around that looks like a mini caber. I hope she wasn’t planning on using her arms for anything afterwards? That is apart from the following pump class. I'm worried her arms will ache so much that she might drop the pump weights on her foot. We don’t want any more injuries.
