Raise The Alarm

L announces she is going to move the alarm clock ten minutes earlier. I’m not totally sure what the plan is for these extra ten minutes and we do already put our existing alarm call to good use but I’m happy to go with the flow.

My lady of leisure pops into work for an hour, then heads off for a haircut before working from home for the rest of the day and chucking balls, of course. Ball chucking has actually entered a new realm since most of the trees went. You can chuck the ball an impressively long way now. MD seems up to the challenge though.
The new hairdo turns out to be a bit on the short side, even for L. I can see I’ll be doing my Christmas shopping at the clip-on ponytail shop this year. She says you don't look at the mantelpiece while you're stoking the fire or so the saying goes. I have a saying too, never underestimate the effect of a good quality mantelpiece.

As I’m out again tonight, continuing to celebrate Cask Ale Week, this time with the ex-University guys in Bingham, L is treating herself (and the dogs) to a roast chicken. Naturally a Sunday roast on a Friday night is a no no but I do pinch some and dunk it in the leftover Madras sauce from our takeaway on Sunday. It’s an excellent improvised meal to fortify myself before the night ahead.

Moggies R Us

L at the new Kitty Café on Friar Lane today. Basically it’s a coffee shop that is full of real live cats and they actually charge you more for dining with the moggies whereas if you were deluged with furry friends in any other establishment you’d probably be demanding a deduction from your bill. L is also allergic to cats. Sounds fun.

It turns out it’s a fiver just to get in and once in you’re only allowed an hour. You have to cover our food with some sort of umbrella to keep the moggies off and there's no pussy stroking allowed or else the cat gestapo will have you. Sounds like it’s only for the hardened cat enthusiast then but the honourable aim is to find these cats a home. It would be fun to sneak MD in though...

This trip into town for my lady of leisure is accompanied by another mission failure on the mini skirt front.

I leave work early and pedal madly to get home to make a 6pm appointment with a man about a tree, several trees in fact. I get home for 5.45 but he’s already been and gone. L has already completed negotiations to have almost everything cut down.

Ladies Of Leisure

Somehow, after getting out of bed very late and getting out of the house even later, I still make it to work on time. For reasons known only unto itself the bus turned up on time and even the traffic wasn’t too bad.

I’m not sure whether L is actually going into work today. Well she does, because she pops into the office to email me to tell me about her good long swim, good long book chat with her author friend and the fact she’s now off to a Pilates session during her 11am lunch break. A really lady of leisure while her boss is away.

Squash is a closer game tonight but the score is still the same e.g. I don’t win any games. L meets us in the pub having walked MD there again while I chauffeured Doggo and his injured pride in the car. Injured pride or not, he seems to love it.
