Not Talking To Me

I bike to work this morning, it’s a bit drizzly but not too bad.

The Burton Mail don’t seem to be printing our photographs or even talking to me. Seems I must have upset them by criticising last year’s article.

L heads over to visit her folks while I stay home, cook and entertain the boys. I get my new electric woodsaw out to chop up some of the tree branches that got left behind when we had the actual trees cut down. Luckily MD doesn’t take as big a dislike to that as he does the lawn mower.

Cracked Already

Back on the bike today, a real one that is not a track bike. Although I’m still buzzing from last night’s session or was that the overnight mugging I got as I attempted to sleep.

In the evening, I trim the dogs and exercise the lawn or something like that.

Meanwhile L is struggling to stay away. She’s obviously left it all out there somewhere. If you put in the equivalent of a sub 1:30 half marathon in the middle of the night, you’re bound to be exhausted.

Talking of which, she already saying it would be a shame not to do the Ramathon again, wouldn't it... She’s cracked already. Now I’ve got to talk her out of it.

Dog Shaped Alarm Clock

As usual the dog shaped alarm clock goes off at just before 6am and starts licking any bit of flesh it can get its tongue on. I probably should say I like his style but I don’t. It can also be a right passion wrecker in the mornings.

I’m tapering on the bus. I consider a lunchtime run but don’t risk it. I’ve also managed to keep out of the pub at lunchtime and I haven’t heard from my squash/tennis opponent. So that’s another possible injury opportunity avoided.

L is stressed, and her event is only a piddly little tri or perhaps that not why she’s stressed. As ever I am happy to de-stress her by whatever means are necessary. So we bring forward Friday and challenge Doggo to wreck it.

He doesn’t. I cut the lawn first and that means he’s so knackered after trying to wreck that, that he can barely make it up the stairs.

Getting Inspired

I take the boys on a rare and short (Doggo friendly) park session. Then we settle into get inspired and watch the London Marathon. Yet again I think that I must do this one day. L is more inspired by a woman they interviewed who was doing a thousand miles in a thousand days. She always has had to go a bit over the top.

Then I cut the lawn and therefore trim MD’s whiskers at the same time with lawn mower.

In the evening we head over to Leamington for a curry night with Son and his girlfriend. I get another useful birthday present, bottle shaped and four of them. The curry house is called the Five Rivers and isn’t bad but nothing amazing. They have a Gourmet Club card which gets us 25% off the food bill.
