Curled Up Asleep

Daughter joins in the park session this morning means L’s tired us all out this morning. They’ll all be curled up asleep at home while L heads off to Pilates and I have another speedy drive in to work. It’s still far too cold and icy to cycle.

By mid-afternoon, not only is it cold but it’s also really foggy. Definitely not a bike day. Instead I do an impressive 25k on the Watt Bike at the gym.

L goes off to an Aqua Fit class at Harvey Hadden with Daughter followed by a sauna. She really will wear that girl out.

Getting Inspired

I take the boys on a rare and short (Doggo friendly) park session. Then we settle into get inspired and watch the London Marathon. Yet again I think that I must do this one day. L is more inspired by a woman they interviewed who was doing a thousand miles in a thousand days. She always has had to go a bit over the top.

Then I cut the lawn and therefore trim MD’s whiskers at the same time with lawn mower.

In the evening we head over to Leamington for a curry night with Son and his girlfriend. I get another useful birthday present, bottle shaped and four of them. The curry house is called the Five Rivers and isn’t bad but nothing amazing. They have a Gourmet Club card which gets us 25% off the food bill.

Interesting Times Ahead

Another park session with the dogs and another gym session at the Tennis Centre. This is becoming a typical Sunday now. Although this will end next weekend as I’ve finally entered a race.

The Cheadle Spring 5 Miler will have the pleasure of my presence next Sunday as a sort of last minute panic warm up before the Dambuster Duathlon the week after.

Interesting times ahead... unless you're my calves.

I Know The Feeling

Doggo seems to struggle a bit after his second park session in two days and is hobbling around on stiff legs. I know the feeling but I’m not as old as him. I don’t think this wet weather is doing much for his old limbs.

I test mine out when L and I go for a gym session later. I again partake in 10k on the bike, 1k on the rower and a weight session.

A Night To Remember

After a morning lie-in and a park session with the dogs I spoil a promising day by spending the afternoon sat in the damp and the cold watching Derby hang on to a 0-0 draw against the might of Barnsley. Unfortunately it’s one of those games that goes under the sub-heading ‘must win’ and obviously we don’t. The writing is on the wall, as well on the floor, the ceiling and everywhere else there’s room to write it and in very big letters.

As it’s our crystal (apparently) anniversary this week L books us into a fish restaurant, one that she’s always wanted to try, for this evening. It’s a night she won’t forget. I suddenly start feeling ill on the bus into town. L and Daughter have both been ill this week, so I guess it was my turn. L had been predicting it but I’d assumed it would pass me by. We make it to the restaurant, order wine but then I start to feel faint. I leave L to make our apologies and cancel the booking whilst I go outside for some air. Fainting is somewhat of a speciality of mine and I feel I put on quite a good show for Nottingham’s revellers. The restaurant is very helpful and start to summon an ambulance but I decline. We head home, where L gets soup for tea rather than a posh meal. So it’s a disappointing evening out and anniversary.
