Being 'Fine'

I’m the bike again, which is good, whilst L’s in the pool, which is 'fine'. Oh no, the f work. This means her injury is sore today.

I’m still cycling on my best bike as my new wheel sits in the spare room waiting to be put on. This is actually one of L’s Christmas presents to me as I bought it with the Wiggle vouchers she gave me. Such a romantic treat.

It's squash tonight to which L power walks with boyo aka MD. Hope it was better than ‘fine’. Then it’s drinks afterwards in the Navigation.

Fogged Off

Wiggle have received L’s squeaky shoes and have refunded me. I wonder what they do with them?
Perhaps they send them to one of those charities asking for shoes for Africa or wherever it is they send them.
Could be loads of people squeaking along the banks of the Nile as we speak.

It is still misty but I’m looking forward to a spot of foggy dogging. L will endeavour not to get lost in the mist on a run in Derby.

As it happens I’m not surprised that dog training is fogged off. L’s run also doesn’t take place.

I try to make the most of having the car by heading to Borrowash for a much needed haircut but they are not even open. Monday is early closing apparently. Having taken so long to get there due to the terrible traffic it’s now too late to swim because they will shut at 7pm and it’ll be at least 6.30pm before I could even get there.

I chuck a few balls instead and then pick L up from Ockbrook.

Ready For My Weekend Ride

Wiggle come up trumps yet again and deliver L’s new, hopefully squeak free, trainers. They’re sort of a shocking salmon pink colour. Horrific really but she’ll love them.

I’m on the bus as I’m pedalling at the velodrome tonight and I head straight there from work for the session which starts at 6pm, ready for my weekend ride, as they say. Bike manufacturer Colnago have clearly tapped into this thought...

...and have since apologised for their ill thought out advert having quickly got the publicity they intended.

Had they worded the caption a little differently it may have gone under the radar completely but that probably wasn’t their aim. They may, of course, have been planning to run a second ad of a similar picture starring a hunky lad in Lycra but now we’ll never know. I really don’t have a problem with this sort of thing as long as it works both ways. Now if only she’d move over a bit so that we can get a better look at the bike.

Tonight’s track session is apparently a level B session, the last one I did was for both A’s and B’s. So tonight I’m with the novices... and it’s a little easier than the last one. I do much better in the sprints and in the Keirin. There’s no Elimination Race tonight which is a shame but they do give us tips on nutrition, training and the like. They also give lessons on using the rollers to warm up. I gallantly have a go with not much success but it’s something to work on.

My Dad again comes to watch and L collects me afterwards, after getting her own training in by running around Pride Park.

Squeaky Feet

I cycle into work today and my new wheel seems very good, the bike was positively zinging along this morning.

L has had enough of  her squeaky feet. The trainers I bought her for her birthday in May went back in July because they squeaked. The replacement pair have also developed a squeak so today I again email Wiggle to request that they take them back again.

They reply within the hour saying they will and as there is now a new model out, I order a pair of those as a replacement. Yet again Wiggle show how good customer service works.

I hope this solves the problem and we don’t ultimately find out that it’s L’s feet that squeak and not the shoes.

Dogging tonight and afterwards I meet L in the pub. Yes, I know, the Pub on a Tuesday... tut tut.
