Secret Location

I head into work in the car because I have a busy lunch hour planned.

I have Doggo’s ashes to fetch from the Pet Crematorium and then when I’ve got him home, hopefully I’ll be meeting Bathstore with some light bulbs for our bathroom.

It all goes swimmingly to plan, well apart from struggling to find the ‘secret’ location of the Crematorium. It’s behind one of these ‘wedding venues’ which is probably why they don’t have many signs up.

Bathstore show up on time but probably only because it’s not Bathstore who come as they’ve sent someone from B&Q. Who was very helpful and changed all four light bulbs for us as well as leaving us some spares.

Each To Their Own

We continue to look for events for Sunday 20th November, the weekend when everything is full. We stumble across the Beacon Trail Half Marathon, which looks interesting until I click on it and it tells me it’s full.

We now have new chic black bathmats in our new chic bathroom.

Dogging is off again, so I head off for a quickie in the gym instead. L is jealous. She’s out tonight but says she’d rather be in a gym than a curry house. Oddly I’d rather be in a curry house than in a gym but there you go. Each to their own.

It’s a hard session. It’s a long time since I’ve been on a Watt Bike and my legs keep reminding me of that fact all the way through my 20k. Luckily the steps go downwards out of the gym back to the changing rooms and crawling down is never as embarrassing as crawling up.

When I’ve recovered, the boys and I go to collect L from her enforced curry house.

The Man Says Yes

Day 22

L locks the builders out this morning, possibly deliberately although she says not. For once he turns up early and before we can rectify the problem but at least we know he’s been today.

I email the bathroom shop to moan about all the delays and ask them to paint the ceiling. I think they should considering what we’re paying them but I’m sure they won’t.

I get home to discover we have a new toilet and almost a new sink. Which is in but not connected and not fastened down yet. The man himself tells me it isn’t finished (obviously) but will be tomorrow and it will look great. All finished? Everything? By tomorrow evening? The man says yes... Ha ha.

Dogging tonight goes to a vote, a re-vote and a re-count or at least it appears to. Eventually it is decided there isn’t enough of us and it is cancelled again.

No Visible Signs

Day 19

No sign of the builders at our place but I do get two communications from the bathroom shop. The first to say that our latest new toilet will be delivered today, so hopefully they’ll be a builder there by then to receive it.

Then an hilarious second one from Customer Care asking how we are finding our new bathroom is. Erm, unfinished? I had to correct the poor girl on a few matters.

She then made a few enquiries and rang me back. Our toilet has been delivered to their shop and is waiting for our builder to collect it. So its Friday install date isn’t looking like this particular Friday. I’m sure L won’t be too surprised to see the old one still in situ when she gets home.

I get home to find no visible signs of builder attendance at all today, so no progress. Oh well, it’s a good excuse to open a few beers.

L heads upstairs with an Old Norwegian in one hand and an old Derbeian/Nottinghamian hybrid in the other.
