Inexplicably Sideways

Today we have a dog show at Thoresby Hall, which is not too far from home. It is MD’s first outing at his new illustrious level of Grade 5, although all today classes are lumped with Grade 4 anyway. So, for today at least, it’s nothing different to what we’re used to.

MD misses the dog walk in both his agility runs, coming off inexplicably sideways on the first one. The second one is very close, so could probably be excused or put down to the judge’s poor eyesight. Otherwise they were good runs.

He is clear on his first jumping course but it is a scrappy run and he is only 6th. Only! He has a pole down in the other jumping run.

Plenty of promise but no delivery today. Doggo has a great day people watching.

Talking of promise, L is apparently out shopping for a denim mini skirt and for a new pair of swimming goggles. Sounds very promising, well the first bit does. Naturally she comes home without the skirt but with the goggles. I think she needs assistance with this shopping lark.

Left In The Dark

On the bike today, the old bike that is. The other one is still being tweaked.

On the way home I head to the pool, which is packed. Things have certainly got busier on a Tuesday since they replaced Wednesday nights with the underwater cycling class. I hope it’s not a success and then we can hopefully have the Wednesday swim session back.

Wiggle have replaced the goggles I had from them that snapped as soon as I tried to use them. The replacement pair seem ok and I use them tonight, although they are rather dark. Which is my fault because I ordered a tinted lens due to being dazzled by the sun at the Great Scottish Swim. However these are so dark that I barely see where I’m going, let alone spot a decent bikini in the next lane. It’s actually a bit like swimming in murky open water... so it should be good training then.

Cycling Underwater

Yesterday’s race leaves me with a tight calf, so I’ll leave off the running for a few days. Instead I take the bike to work. I also take my swimming kit, just in case they’ll let me in. Tuesday’s will have to be my new (occasional) swim night as the leisure centre have inexplicably scrapped the Wednesday night lane session, which was possibly the most popular swim session they had.

It’s off the menu so that they can run an underwater cycling class and lo and behold, there they are. Lots of odd looking bikes lined up around the poolside. I was expecting something a kin to a kid’s bike from Fisher Price in bright yellow plastic but these are more your typical metal spin bikes.

My swim doesn’t go well, which isn’t unusual I suppose but my new goggles break as I attempt to adjust the straps and before I even get chance to wear them for the first time.
