Meaningless End Of Season Fixture

L is a good girl and doesn’t do Eccles Parkrun but does retail therapy instead. I wondered why the credit card was quaking in fear at the back of my wallet.

Today’s final match of the season is another 12:30 kick off. It’s a meaningless end of season fixture with Derby definitely in the play offs and Ipswich Town definitely not. Unfortunately Mick McCarthy’s sides tend not to know the meaning of the phrase ‘meaningless end of season fixture’ and Derby’s George Thorne will now miss the play offs with a broken leg.

We meet L’s train from Nottingham station. Reunited, I think it best that I get this girl home quickly to bed before she runs off again. Later we head to the Horse and Jockey at Stapleford for a few beers including a dark one, Naylor’s Black and Tan.
